Capital City Flyers Meeting Minutes
May 19, 2016
Location: Wayne Trieu Residence - 309 Livingstone Court NW
Meeting convened at 7:40 p.m. 10 Members in attendance
OLD BUSINESS
No old business to discuss
Membership- Membership Co-coordinator not available
Finance –Treasurer not available
Field – Rob Bacchus reported that field mowing has been minimal but expects to start more
often after the upcoming rain. A problem with a gopher has been solved with the elimination of
said gopher.
Ted Haggart reported that he built a new table and repaired two others. Three more need
repair and will be done as time permits.
SAFETY - Wayne Trieu reported that a member had been injured by a prop strike. A discussion
ensued about engine starting procedures around a spinning prop, lose clothing and neck straps
getting caught in the prop. It was recommended that all models have some way of “killing” the
engine . It was noticed that few members seem to be doing range checks any more. Are we
becoming too complacent? It was agreed that all members should remind others when they see
a problem.
Wayne mentioned that we need some vinyl gloves for the First Aid box.
Ron Tagg said he would purchase some and review the contents and condition of the First Aid
box next time he is at the field.
Wings – Bill Alexander reported that all the training students are doing fine.
Website No report available.
Social – Dave Pointon reported that all things are ready for the fun fly. We are unsure if any
posters are ready for distribution to the hobby shops. That will be looked into.
New Business – No new business
Meeting adjourned at 8:30
